Rockstar in court again.

Yawn,

It's publicity that you can't buy. Los Angeles City Lawyers are suing Rockstar Games (how many times has that been for Rockstar now?) over the "hot coffee" content in GTA San Andreas.

The plaintiff is lawyer Rocky Delgadillo, a name which would not be out of character in any of the GTA series. I'll bet he'll have a cameo in the next of the series, probably followed by some rapid gunfire on the part of the central GTA character.

The game has been out for a while now, starting with the PS2 version in October 2004, and with the launch of the PC and Xbrick version in June 2005, it's rarely been out of the papers. The problem is simulated sex scenes that were "unlocked" on the PC. Often, content that is taken out of a game isn't completely removed, it's just commented out or pasted over.

Wikipedia has a pretty good entry on the subject if you want further info.

Who needs imagination?

Wire frames are for grandads ;)

Yesterday I was feeling a li'l nostalgic, but today I'm thinking about something new.

I saw X3 - Reunion and it looks nice. But then so did Earth and Beyond in its time.

X3 Reunion has picked up some reasonably reviews. So I think I'll be checking it out. If you have already played it, drop me a note and let me know if you think its better than Elite...

Imagination

I was talking today with someone who thinks that computer games are ruining the imagination of children. I played games from a very young age. But I can't use my experience even as an anecdote to persuade you that today's game's don't blunt imagination of the players. I haven't grown up with games that the kids have today. I had games like Elite..... And a lot of imagination was required playing that game. I imagined that I was Commander Jameson flying a Cobra MkIII and loved every minute of it.

No way the kids of today could spend seven hours straight playing Elite. I'm not even sure I could any more... ;)

New MMORPG on the block

Sure, there are always new MMORPGs. This one doesn't have any combat in it. That's such a novel concept that I can't wait to try it out.

It's called SEED, and not only does it have carebear written all over it, it also looks like a cartoon....

But i'll try most games at least once, and an MMORPG without any combat in worth at least a look.
